Make-IT Alliance

At a glance

The initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) has been supporting local digital innovations since 2016. The focus is on technology start-ups and their business ecosystems in selected partner countries of the German development cooperation. This takes place in cooperation with the Make-IT Alliance, a merger of predominantly private European companies, associations and social enterprises.

In action

Make-It in Africa is part of the #Team Europe initiative African European Digital Innovation Bridge (AEDIB). It is a joint partnership focussed on promoting digital entrepreneurship. After all, entrepreneurs are the driving force behind a sustainable and integrative digital transformation on both continents and are a fundamental requirement for establishing a resilient and diverse digital economy after the pandemic.

Within the BMZ initiative "Make-IT", young entrepreneurs are supported in the establishment and development of their start-up. Via the learning platform atingi, they have the opportunity to take advantage of training courses on project management and digital entrepreneurship and thus successfully position their start-up on the market.
