Orange releases a new brochure on its D4D-related activities in Africa

Connectivity, digital transformation and digital skills for equal opportunities and employment in Africa: this is what the new brochure “Digital Africa” by our strategic partner Orange is all about. In addition to numerous interesting facts and figures, the tech company Orange shows its commitment and its visions for Africa. In order to foster a human-centred digital transformation on our neighbouring continent, Orange invests around one billion euros annually.

One of the flagship initiatives for training young people in digital skills and promoting local innovation is the “Strategic Alliance Orange Digital Center” (see p.21). GIZ and Orange are jointly investing around €30 million to establish modern digital centres in 14 countries that offer a wide range of digital learning content in addition to technical equipment. BMZ funding is provided under the develoPPP programme and through the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation.
