With the launch of the Innovate2030 innovation challenge at the COP26, the BMZ and its partners from the UNFCCC and the European Commission bring together innovators from all around the world to combat the mounting pressure of climate change that cities both cause and suffer from.
The challenge follows a solution-oriented approach to digital innovation in the context of sustainable cities and communities. The key to this is to identify what digital technologies in the context of urban development must and can contribute to achieving climate and development goals.
Within Innovate2030 the BMZ digilab, a new strategic partnership of BMZ, GIZ, KfW and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; the Make-IT Alliance, with its members such as Atos, Bosch, SAP, our Digital Transformation Centres or partners like Deutsche Telekom and join forces against climate change.
