There were 70.8 million refugees worldwide at the end of 2018 (UNHCR, 2019). Digital approaches have much to offer for refugees and migrants. Smartphones are many people’s only constant, companion and point of connection. Digital technologies can thus be used to improve access to education, information or financial and health care services. The Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development aims to develop future prospects so that people can go back to living lives of their own choosing and find ways to stay in their home and host countries.
